It’s New Year’s Day in New Zealand. Originally, my plan was to leave this newsletter alone for a few weeks in January, but a few cool things happened during the last week of December and I wanted to share them. I hope everyone is doing okay right now.

WHAT I’VE BEEN DOING:

Every three months, I write a recap of recent music releases from around the world for London’s Dazed & Confused magazine’s Dazed Digital website. The Q4 2020 edition of my column is live on the website now (click here).

At 4pm Bethlehem Time on Sunday 20 December 2020, Palestine’s excellent Radio Alhara aired another one of my DJ mixes. The Beach: Sixty minutes of ambient, folk, light mellow and balearic cuts with a dash of noise. The beach is blissful, but when you least expect it, those waves can become deadly. (click here)

555-5555 asked the whole multiverse to contribute end of year top tens to a thread on their lovely community forum. I didn’t quite understand the scope of potential with this one, so just gave them a list of ten amazing records from the cursed year. Other people’s lists were far more creative - or were they?
