Kia ora all. I’ve had an interesting/frustrating week, but I’ll keep all of that to myself for now. This week’s photos were taken with Ilford Delta 3200 film on a Nikon F60 camera before being developed and scanned by Splendid.
WHAT I’VE BEEN LISTENING TO:
Tāmira Pūoro, Feather Spines: A delicate, spacious and moving intermingling of taonga pūoro (traditional Māori instruments), cello, harp and voice from the brilliant minds and hearts of Ruby Solly and Michelle Velvin.
Teno Afrika, Where You Are: One thing I love about amapiano is how luxurious it can sound, and there are moments on "Where You Are" that feel heavenly. This album is a state-of-the-art hovercraft with a dancefloor and speakers on the back. Enjoy the ride.
Dos Ritmos, Materia: Chuggy, polyrhythmic house/techno hybridizations from the duo project of Luca Lozano and Phran. Stripped down, hypnotic and loaded with tasteful guest contributions from Ivy Barkakati, Ribes, Jonathan Sirit and Hidden Memory.
ODDS + ENDS

The Wheke Fortress crowdfunding campaign is now at 79%. Check it out here.
February is Black History Month, and to celebrate, World Cafe correspondent John Morrison is stopping by NPR each week to talk about some of the Black innovators of rock and roll: Black artists who invented and re-invented rock, decade by decade. Check out the latest edition of this series here.
