Hello

My name is Martyn Pepperell. I’m a freelance music journalist, broadcaster and DJ from Wellington, New Zealand. Over the last fifteen years, I’ve gone from writing for a litany of now-shuttered local street press and music magazines to publishing worldwide through US and UK music outlets like Bandcamp Daily, Dazed, Mixmag, Test Pressing, The Wire and Wax Poetics.

In the early 2000s, I was broadcasting with student radio stations around New Zealand. These days I put together mixes and broadcast packages for internet stations like NTS, Dublab and Radio Alhara. I’m still learning, and I’m still always trying new things out.
